CME ConferenceAirway workshop: On Demand
Dr. William Rosenblatt, Professor of Anesthesiology and Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine, will travel to your institution to present this important information. Participants will learn about decision-making in airway management and the application of a full range of techniques and devices. After 4 hours of multimedia lecture, there will be a 2-hour, hands-on session featuring flexible, rigid, malleable, and digital optical devices, intubating stylets, supraglottic airways and invasive airways. *Patient simulation and swine trachea lab are optional depending on availability.Course Prerequisites There are no course prerequisites. This course is recommended for Anesthesiologists, Nurse Anesthetists, Emergency Medicine Physicians, Critical Care Physicians, Respiratory Therapists, Emergency Medicine Technicians, Medical and Nursing Students and others who manage patient airways. Sample Course Curriculum (may be customized and scheduled for day or evening) Hour 1: ~ Decision-making and patient evaluation in airway management ~ Aids to direct laryngoscopy Hour 2: ~ Inhalation induction of the difficult airway patient ~ Preparation for awake intubation ~ Indirect vision aided intubation (e.g., fiberoptic and others) ~ Minimally invasive techniques of intubation Hour 3: ~ Supraglottic rescue airways (e.g., laryngeal masks and others) ~ Intubation via supraglottic airways Hour 4: ~ Transtracheal jet ventilation ~ Percutaneous cricothyrotomy ~ Extubation of the difficult airway Hours 5 & 6: ~ Hands on workshop, *patient simulator, *swine trachea lab Registration Fees Pricing of this workshop may be on an event or per-person basis (15 person minimum). It should be appreciated that, unlike similar courses, the attendees will have no travel or lodging costs, and no missed work days. Accreditation The Yale School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. This educational activity is designated for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits�. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The American Medical Association has determined that physicians not licensed in the US who participate in this CME activity are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.
