The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Emergency Medicine will hold its 2nd Annual Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course for the Community Practitioner on October 22, 2005. Accredited by Yale for 8.5 Category 1 Credits, the seminar condenses the standard two-day program into a one-day format. Practitioners who attend this course will be able to:
- recognize the ill child for shock, respiratory distress and toxicological, allergic, and neurologic emergencies
- demonstrate how to prepare for an office emergency
- become PALS-certified with the new curriculum
Three weeks prior to the course, registrants will receive a packet that contains a pre-test along with a pediatric advanced support provider manual.
